Clotrimazole and Hydrocortisone are combined in this medicine.
This medicine is used to treat fungal infections of the skin. It helps relieve inflammation, redness and itching of the skin.
Apply exactly as directed by your doctor or according to the instructions on the label. Do not use more or less than instructed by your doctor.
If you have been given a cream, follow these steps:
1. Wash your hands and dry your skin gently before applying this medicine.
2. Clean the affected area and let it dry before applying the medicine.
3. Apply a thin layer in the affected area. Rub it gently on the skin until it disappears.
4. Do not cover, wrap or bandage the area being treated.
5. Wash your hands after each application.
Avoid contact of this medicine with your eyes or mouth. Rinse immediately if the medicine accidentally gets into your eyes or mouth. Alert your doctor if you start to have any problems with your eyesight.
Clotrimazole+Hydrocortisone must be used regularly and within the given medication timeframe for it to be effective. Continue using this medicine even when you feel better. Do not stop using it unless instructed by the doctor.
Apply the missed dose as soon as you remember.
DO NOT double a dose under any circumstances.
Alert your doctor if you have the following conditions:
- other skin problems or infections e.g. pimples, tuberculosis of the skin, or rashes around the mouth
- viral skin infections e.g. chicken pox, shingles
- vaccination reactions on the skin
as this medicine may not be suitable for you.
Let your doctor know if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Do not apply the medicine in large areas of the skin.
Tell your doctor if your condition does not improve or if it worsens.
Clotrimazole+Hydrocortisone may cause any of the following side effects: skin irritation such a burning or stinging sensation, drying, peeling, and thinning of the skin.
Inform your doctor if any of these side effects do not go away or are severe, or if you experience other side effects.
Clotrimazole+Hydrocortisone should not be used at the same time with rubber contraceptives (e.g. condoms) as this medicine may reduce the effectiveness of the contraceptive.
Inform your doctor if you are using any other creams, ointments or other medicines on the affected area.
Always notify your doctor and pharmacist if you are taking any other medicines, including herbal tonics such as traditional Chinese medicines, supplements and medicines that you buy without a prescription.
Store in a cool, dry place away from the reach of children.
Medicines must not be used past the expiry date.
